Out With The Old, In With The New

As it always does, 12 months have gone by very quickly. We're just a few short weeks away from saying goodbye to 2016. And, as the saying goes, "Out with the old, in with the new." When one door closes, another opens.  Change is good.

There have been very positive changes here at Weight*No*MoreSM Diet Center.  My blogs took off last year and continued to grow in subscribers this year. I introduced my weekly Fat ChatSM podcasts this year, and I hope to add some guest interviews in 2017. We expanded our distance weight loss service and, to accommodate that, in the next couple of weeks all pages at my web site will be easily translatable into any language.

Another change coming in 2017 is that I'll be discontinuing this monthly electronic newsletter in favor of one generated quarterly. They will include seasonal/personal messages from me; videos; featured vendors/practitioners who provide exemplary health and wellness services; content from other weight loss experts; general weight loss industry news and findings; and weight loss success stories (if you'd like to write about how weight loss has affected your health and your life, please let me know).

If you aren't already connected to our social networks, I urge you to do so. Then, in addition to my daily postings, you'll be able to keep up with new recipes, weight loss cartoons and motivational graphics, will not be included in future quarterly newsletters. Here are the links to Follow.

Mind Your Own Business in 2017

Business owners know that this is the time to reflect on the year about to end: They look at how and where they invested capital in their business, and assess whether or not there was a return on that investment. They look at the products and services they offered, and assess what worked, what didn't; they consider what they'd like to continue vs. what they might want to put on the shelf. They consider what their business plan will be going forward, whether it'll be stay the course or a new direction; will they need new employees or new tools and resources for current employees.

Well, folks ... EVERY SINGLE PERSON reading this right now is a business owner ... because your body IS your business!

You know why greater than 50% of new-business owners fail? It's because they didn't have a strategic plan. They may have had a great idea, a great product or service, but 'hoping' and 'wishing' for success isn't enough. A vision of being successful isn't going to make it happen ... no matter the talent, no matter the financial resources available.

You know why so many established businesses fail? Because they didn't have a strategic plan to MAINTAIN their success. They got complacent; they settled for the success they had; they did the same thing over and over; never evolved; never added new products or services; never reaching out to new demographics; always assuming their customers would be there.

If you're overweight or obese, hoping and wishing just won't make you slim! And, if you have previously lost weight, and don't maintain the good eating habits that got you slim, you will gain all your weight back (and more!) - and your body will fail you . . . it'll go out of business.

So, what's YOUR business plan for 2017?

On behalf of all of us at Weight*No*MoreSM Diet Center,
I want to wish all of you a Happy Hanukkah, a very Merry Christmas
and a happy and healthy (and slim!) New Year.
